The usage of comics to introduce information and facts is considered one of the oldest methods a human has used to transfer information, lessons and life experiences to children, and is one of the best ways to teach students because of its ability to attract attentionand convey a lot of information in a compressed and simple day, and the purposes of using it in education / teaching can be summarized in two main points:
1- The story is considered one of the strongest stimulation factors in childhood and it is rather a sort of heard-literature a child enjoys it before learning how to read, or it is a read-and-heard-literature when he learns to read and write.
2- Pictures and drawings are emotional containers of huge importance to children who express themselves through drawings since a very early age, andthey receive expression through them as well, and are occupied by lots of their details, and their brains are imprinted with its illusive picture, and multiple studies indicate that more than often drawing or picture are far more convincing than a word, hence the existence of a picture or a drawing has led to conviction and authenticity.
It is well-acknowledged that children are interested in reading and listeningto stories since an early stage in their lives and they tend to unite with andsimulate the stories' characters, and to encase themselves in the incidents, then they start to realise the standards of social behaviour behind the relationships between the characters and thus gain the ability to organise their behaviour consciously according to these desired standards, so the story is considered an important field for the growth of the child's conscious and the development of his social perception, besides a lot of the core of the human moral thinking of the child's character in subsequent life stages derive its roots from the story's signification which may involve educational, moral, scientific, artistic or recreational objective.
And in the primary stage, the influence of the story and its contribution in the development of the child's character continue, and its role increases upon learning reading and writing and accordingly he can be dependent in choosing to read stories that suit his intellective, linguistic and scientific level, whereas the primary stage child has moved to a new social life with other children, and this change needs him to learn and gain new social properties, such as collaboration, system respect, and maintenance of others' rights, and such characteristics of social life practice in the new community. On top, there is a whole lot of purposes to use comical story in education according to the goals achievable through it which are:
1- It stimulates imagination in the child's psychology.
2- It bursts in him the passion to learn.
3- It habituates him to careful listening and understanding.
