During the last weeks the world watched with anticipation and excitement the most awaited revealing of the Pfizer - and BioNTech - COVID-19 vaccine that's supposed to be shipped and distributed to many countries along the upcoming months. Reportedly the vaccine is administered in two shots with 21 days apart. The UK and US governments have already begun the vaccination campaigns in their countries starting with thousands of state officials, healthcare workers and people over 50 being vaccinated first during the last two weeks of December 2020. 

However, the first phase of the vaccination programme in England resulted in some unexpected results! Some patients have showed an allergic reaction to the Pfizer vaccine which has caused a state of anxiety amongst the public. The Pfizer trial participants have already stated that some of the side effects to the vaccine can be quite intense; the side effects are not similar to the normal flu symptoms like what the rumors say. Some of the intense side effects can start showing after the second shot of the vaccine being administered; the side effects are more likely similar to the Coronavirus symptoms. 

The FDA and Pfizer assured the public that the side effects of the vaccine are pretty normal and expected as a sign that the vaccine is activated within the body. Thousands of people have already participated in the clinical vaccine trails over the past few months; the side effects reported do actually differ from one participant to another. 

The US, UK and Canada are amongst the very first countries to start the official vaccination programs as the year 2020 was ending. Canada is expecting a vaccine shipment with nearly 250,000 doses; the European Union is expecting a first shipment of the Pfizer vaccine with 200 million doses. The main and worst hit American states have already started vaccinating people during the last few weeks. However even with all of the diligent efforts exerted to assure the masses that the vaccine is 100% safe and effective, innumerable people are still questioning whether or not it's worth it to take the vaccine when the time comes! 

Most people are worried mainly about the unexpected side effects rumored to hit the patient after the second dose. The side effects can be best described as a lighter version of the COVID-19 symptoms - such as headache, nausea, chills, shaking and fever. According to the pharmaceutical company, the COVID-19-like symptoms are a temporary phase and nothing to worry about. In fact a lot of patients have similar side effects - which vary in intensity - after the second dose of the vaccine. The most viral side effects for all age groups include headaches and fatigue. The most important thing is that these vaccine-accompanying COVID-19 symptoms are not a sign that you've got the virus; on the contrary they are indicators that the vaccine has activated your immune system. The rollout process of the vaccine will be closely monitored by the company and government officials to ensure the safety of patients and the efficacy of the vaccine during the upcoming period.
