Facebook Is Letting Fans Down in 2020

The launch of Facebook years ago has indeed massively changed the entire perception of online communication and socializing via the internet. The success of the famous blue app has surpassed the expectations and til date Facebook is still the no. 1 dominant social media outlet with the biggest audience ever.

In the recent few years, there has been a couple of rising challenges facing Facebook and they are mainly revolving around its privacy standards and the authenticity - clarity - of its social media platform. The beginning of the past year has already witnessed the promise of introducing a default end-to-end encryption feature in the popular Facebook Messenger; the CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, has continuously stressed that the user's uncompromised online privacy is the no. 1 priority for the Facebook group. And whilst WhatsApp - by Facebook - is one big messenger with an end-to-end encryption feature provided for all users by default, Facebook Messenger is still struggling to present a 100% "immune" privacy policy despite the fact that almost one year has passed since the big announcement.
By the start of 2020, Facebook officials rushed to declare that an end-to-end encryption feature is indeed a longer-than-usual process; according to them, implanting end-to-end encryption would take years to come to life because it requires a rethinking of the entire working mechanism of the well-established messenger.
In addition, the past two months brought about yet another decision by Facebook. The admission to the Messenger is no longer possible without having a profile / FB account first. In prior years, Facebook made it possible for users to sign up for Messenger without having an account as a way of facilitating the online communication process with the outer world in some regions with weak internet connection or strict Facebook opposition. The easy sign-ups to Messenger helped increase the number of users - palpably - who can utilize only the instant messaging service. Unfortunately, Facebook decided that it's time to finally 100% unite the Messenger with Facebook since most Messenger users are already sporting FB profiles.

Facebook Continuously Promises to Introduce End-to-End Encryption in its Messenger

The continuous, and sometimes deliberate, failures of Facebook to meet the needs of worldwide users have been resulting in bad reviews and negative feedback from both experts and ordinary people. Many social media and tech experts have advised Facebook users to start considering the option of switching to other, more trusted alternatives. Popular messengers including Viber, Telegram, and Signal have been flaunting totally secured messaging services for a while now. However, if Facebook continues with the same pattern of letting his fans down and failing to deliver his full-privacy promises, the future consequences won't be that pleasing in any way.
